How to get to Prague
The Capital of Prague is easily accessible by all means of transport. The international airport Prague – Ruzyne is connected with all important cities and flight junctions around the world through Czech Airlines. All significant airlines run flights to Prague. International train connections to the Czech Republic arrive at the Prague Main Railway Station. Car drivers must have the valid national or international driving license that carries the photograph of the holder.
Passport and Visa
Visitors form EU countries must have an identity card or a valid passport. Visitors from other countries must have a valid passport and if it is requested a visa as well. For the visa visitors are advised to contact consular offices of the Czech Republic or diplomatic missions in their country.
Health documents
No special health documents are required when traveling to the Czech Republic. Necessary health documents (International Yellow Card, personal travel insurance and all) are obvious.
Insurance
Conference participants are advised to arrange for themselves personal and travel insurance for the journey and stay in the Czech Republic. The organizer will bear no liability for any averages.
Banking
The official currency in the Czech Republic is the Czech Crown (CZK, Kc). The 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000 notes are in circulation. Banks are mostly opened Monday – Friday, 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. Money can be exchange as well at the airport, in hotels, at city exchange points. The approximate exchange rate €/CZK is 1€ = 28 CZK and USD/CZK is 1 USD = 23 CZK. Traveler’s Checks are usually not accepted in shops and restaurants. Credit cards as Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted generally.
